Gym for Sliema and Gzira: CrossFit and HYROX at F15 Training CENTR Msida
If you live or work in Sliema or Gzira and you want a gym Sliema residents can rely on for structured coaching rather than a swipe-card and a row of treadmills, F15 Training CENTR is a short drive across the Msida creek. The facility sits in Msida, directly adjacent to Gzira and a few minutes from central Sliema, which makes it a practical home base for people who want CrossFit and HYROX training without a long commute.
This page is for Sliema and Gzira residents searching for a coaching-first option. It covers what we do, why the Msida location works for the Sliema/Gzira catchment, what a typical session looks like, and how to start.
What we do
F15 Training CENTR is a coaching-first functional fitness facility. The main class offering is CrossFit, but the programme covers more than that. You can train across:
- CrossFit
- Functional Strength
- Olympic Weightlifting
- Gymnastics
- Stamina
- HYROX Strength, Stamina, Baseline and Performance
- Team Workouts on Saturdays
- Kids Classes for ages 6 to 12
Personal training is available with Coach Geri and Coach Lazar for members who want a private or focused approach, and nutrition support is offered alongside InBody scans to track body composition and progress over time. The full service mix is detailed on the F15 Training CENTR homepage.
Why train in Msida if you live in Sliema or Gzira
Msida shares a border with Gzira along the creek, and Sliema sits a short drive beyond. For most Sliema and Gzira residents, reaching the gym is a quick trip outside peak traffic windows. That matters because consistency is the single biggest predictor of progress, and a gym you can actually get to on a Tuesday evening after work is more useful than one in a flashier postcode that you skip twice a week.
The other reason to look outside Sliema specifically is the type of training. Plenty of commercial gyms in the Sliema strip offer machines and a class timetable. F15 Training CENTR is built around coached group classes with scaling for beginner, intermediate and advanced. Every workout is led by a coach, every movement is taught, and progress is measured rather than guessed.
Head Coach Victor leads the coaching standards and class structure, drawing on more than ten years of coaching experience including high-level athletes in France. The wider team includes Geri, Lazar, Owain and Sofia, who covers Kids Classes alongside Geri.
What a session looks like
A typical CrossFit class follows the methodology of constantly varied, functional movement at scalable intensity. Expect a warm-up, a strength or skill component (for example back squats, push press, or snatch technique), and a conditioning piece that might combine rowing, wall-balls, kettlebell swings, dumbbell snatches or running. The coach scales loads and movements so a first-week beginner and a seasoned athlete can train in the same class safely.
HYROX sessions are split across four formats so you can target the demands of the race directly. HYROX Strength on Monday evenings covers heavy sled work, squats and lunges. HYROX Stamina runs three times a week with ERG-based intervals. HYROX Baseline on Thursday focuses on running technique and aerobic capacity, and HYROX Performance on Sunday morning is a 90-minute race-style session, the longest class on the schedule.
Class times Monday to Friday include 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 4:45 PM, 5:50 PM, 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with shorter weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday morning. That early-morning and late-evening spread suits Sliema and Gzira professionals working standard office hours.
How to start
Every new member begins with a 30-minute no-sweat intro. This is a consultation, not a workout. You sit down with a coach, talk through your goals, current fitness, schedule and any previous training history, and leave with a plan that matches the goal.
After the intro, every client completes four personal training sessions with Coach Owain. These sessions teach the foundations of functional fitness, how classes run, how to scale workouts, and how to approach intensity safely. You also complete a benchmark workout and an InBody scan so there is a measurable starting point. Progress is reassessed every three months by repeating both.
This structure exists because beginners thrown straight into group classes tend to either get hurt or get lost. Four coached sessions up front fix that, and the integration into group classes after is far smoother.
If you are ready to start, book your no-sweat intro and we will take it from there. If you want to read more about the wider programme first, the F15 Training CENTR overview covers it in detail, and you can book a consultation at any time.
